Job Title: Techno-Commercial Specialist for Transformers Job Description: Position Overview: The Techno-Commercial Specialist for Transformers plays a pivotal role in evaluating materials used in transformer manufacturing, including both ferrous and non-ferrous components. Additionally, this role involves assessing transformer scrap and motor scrap to optimize resource utilization and cost-effectiveness. The individual in this role will bridge the technical and commercial aspects, ensuring the quality of materials while maximizing profitability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Material Evaluation: - Conduct comprehensive evaluations of materials used in transformer manufacturing, focusing on both ferrous and non-ferrous components. - Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure materials meet quality standards and specifications. - Identify opportunities for material optimization and cost reduction without compromising quality or performance. 2. Transformer Scrap Evaluation: - Develop and implement processes for evaluating transformer scrap, including assessing the quality and potential for recycling or repurposing. - Work closely with scrap suppliers and recycling facilities to establish efficient scrap management practices. - Analyze trends in transformer scrap generation and recommend strategies to minimize waste and maximize value extraction. 3. Motor Scrap Evaluation: - Extend expertise to the evaluation of motor scrap, identifying valuable materials and potential reuse opportunities. - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to streamline motor scrap collection, sorting, and processing procedures. - Implement measures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals in motor scrap management. 4. Techno-Commercial Analysis: - Conduct techno-commercial analyses to assess the overall viability and cost-effectiveness of materials and scrap management practices. - Develop and maintain databases or systems to track material evaluations, scrap inventories, and performance metrics. - Generate reports and presentations to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to management and key stakeholders. 5. Continuous Improvement: - Proactively identify areas for process optimization and efficiency enhancement within the material evaluation and scrap management workflows. - Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements related to transformer materials and scrap management. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of transformer manufacturing operations. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred. - Strong knowledge of materials used in transformer manufacturing, including ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. - Experience in evaluating scrap materials and implementing scrap management practices in an industrial setting. - Proficiency in techno-commercial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies, and financial modeling. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. - Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to derive actionable insights from data. - Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in materials evaluation and scrap management.
