Key Responsibility :1. Build the engineering team2. Own architecture and design decisions for feature scalability3. Deliver high-quality build in line with API-first fintech platformRole :1. Participate in organization expansion by :a. Building and owning the recruitment process of the engineering teamb. Mentoring the engineering team and setting each team member for success c. Providing and seeking constructive feedbackd. Lead the engineering team to meet organizational goals efficientlye. Participate in organizational-level meetings to discuss products and brainstorm ideas 2. Take complete ownership of product build whilst meeting industry standards by :a. Evaluating the tools, technologies and methodologiesb. Evaluating the platform based on the existing product requirementsc. Monitoring costs for the platform and keeping it within budgetd. Evaluate tech debts and trade-offs with current and future deliverablese. Collaborate with the internal stakeholders to understand the product requirement by proactively asking questions and providing feasibility feedback3. Ensure the engineering team's deliverables are within the estimates provided by :a. Focusing on high-priority requirements and deliverables b. Unblocking the team with technical solutions for feature scalabilityc. Proactively calling out blockers and trade-offs with product4. Must have experience with making API-first platform decisions across engineering functions to deliver product features by :a. Deciding on the best coding language, architecture and design suited for the Merge requirements. Publish clear conventions and supporting decision-making frameworks to avoid bikeshedding.b. Enabling a DevOps pipeline for increased productivityc. Enabling infrastructure that supports scale, and security and is within budgetd. Understanding and meeting compliance/audit requirements proactively5. Lead designs for the product build by :a. Designing and developing a platform which meets the Merge requirementsb. Designing software architecture that meets scalability, maintainability and reliabilityc. Sharing high-quality documentation for design and architecture artefactsd. Documenting research findings, approaches, and key decisions e. Ensuring high-quality code as per the industry standards for yourself and the teamf. Ensuring deliverables are within the estimated efforts for yourself and the team6. On a need basis must be able to code and deliver features by taking full ownership of the feature development by writing clean, secure, and well-tested code7. Understand the product as a whole and think through it from a customer point of view8. You should be curious about learning about the existing platform and providing ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms (ref:hirist.tech)
