Job Description : WAS Admin (WebSphere Application Server Administrator)Location : Client - BangaloreWe are seeking a skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a WebSphere Application Server Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our WebSphere infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.Key Responsibilities :Installation and Configuration :- Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server environments in both development and production settings.- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of applications with the WebSphere environment.Performance Monitoring and Tuning :- Monitor server performance and proactively address any performance bottlenecks.- Conduct performance tuning to optimize the efficiency and responsiveness of the WebSphere infrastructure.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution :- Investigate and resolve issues related to WebSphere Application Server functionality.- Provide timely and effective solutions to incidents, ensuring minimal impact on business operations.Security Management :- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard the WebSphere infrastructure.- Ensure compliance with security policies and industry best practices.Backup and Recovery :- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures for WebSphere environments.- Test and validate backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity.Documentation :- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the WebSphere infrastructure, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.- Provide training and knowledge transfer to other team members.Collaboration :- Work closely with development, testing, and support teams to facilitate seamless application deployment and ongoing support.- Collaborate with other IT teams to implement cross-functional solutions.Patch Management :- Keep abreast of WebSphere updates, fixes, and patches.- Plan and execute patch management activities in coordination with change management processes.Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Proven experience as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.- Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Jython.- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.- Familiarity with security principles and best practices.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.- WebSphere certifications would be a plus.Who can apply :Candidates who :- Have the relevant skills and interests- Willing to relocate to Mumbai (ref:hirist.tech)
