About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optical Network Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining software for next-generation optical networking systems. You will leverage your expertise in C/C++, network management protocols, and optical network architecture to design, develop, and implement high-performance software solutions.Responsibilities:Software Development:- Develop and maintain network element (NE) software using C/C++ programming languages.- Utilize network management interfaces such as NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC/gNMI, SNMP, TL1, CLI, and XML for data communication and configuration.Optical Networking Expertise:- Implement software features that leverage a deep understanding of optical ROADM architecture.- (Desirable) Possess knowledge of the optical domain (Sonet/SDH/OTN/DWDM) to further enhance solutions (a plus).High-Performance Computing:- Develop software for multi-processor, highly concurrent systems, demonstrating proficiency in synchronization techniques, interrupt handling, inter-process communication, and mutual exclusion.Operating Systems:- Possess a strong understanding of operating systems like Linux, Mac, and Windows for development and deployment purposes.Problem-Solving and Communication:- Effectively troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify optimal design solutions.- Maintain excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (BE/BTech preferred).- 6-10 years of experience in software development for network infrastructure or embedded systems.- Expertise in C/C++ programming languages and object-oriented design principles.- In-depth knowledge of network management protocols (NETCONF, RESTCONF, gRPC/gNMI, SNMP, TL1, CLI).- Strong understanding of optical ROADM architecture.- (Desirable) Experience with SDN and OpenDaylight or similar open-source projects (a plus).- Proficiency in working with multi-processor and highly concurrent systems.- Experience with Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems.
