Description:
Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mainframe Assembler Developer with a passion for code migration to join our team. You will play a key role in translating complex mainframe Assembler code into modern languages like Java, acting as a bridge between legacy systems and the future of our technology stack. Your in-depth knowledge of Assembler programming and strong communication skills will be instrumental in ensuring successful code migration projects that preserve business logic and functionality.Responsibilities:- Analyze and understand existing mainframe applications written in Assembler language.- Extract business knowledge and translate Assembler code functionality into clear and concise specifications.- Collaborate with Java developers to facilitate the migration of Assembler code to open systems.- Explain Assembler code functionality and logic to non-Assembler programmers for effective knowledge transfer.- Participate in all stages of the code migration lifecycle, from requirements gathering to unit testing.- Write and execute unit test cases to ensure the accuracy and functionality of migrated code.- Present migration designs and solutions to peers and product owners for review and approval.- Maintain strong communication channels with stakeholders throughout the migration process.- (Preferred) Experience working on migration projects involving card domain systems.- (Plus) Experience with re-learning and adapting to new mainframe projects.- (Plus) Proficiency in Java programming language for a holistic understanding of the migration process.Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (a plus).- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Mainframe Application Development with a strong focus on Assembler language.- Proven expertise in analyzing, understanding, and modifying complex Assembler code.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.- Strong ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications for migration.- Experience with unit testing methodologies and tools for code quality assurance.- Solid understanding of the entire code migration lifecycle and best practices.- Ability to present technical concepts and solutions clearly and concisely.
