About the Role:We are looking for a skilled and experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in backend technologies, data processing, and cloud platforms to build robust and scalable solutions for data storage, management, and analysis.Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and implement backend systems for data ingestion, transformation, and storage using various technologies (e.g., APIs, databases, data pipelines).- Work with data architects and analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.- Select, configure, and manage appropriate data storage solutions (relational databases, NoSQL databases, data lakes) based on data characteristics and project needs.- Develop and implement data pipelines for efficient data movement and transformation between various data sources and destinations.- Utilize cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to build and manage data infrastructure components.- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations.- Monitor and optimize data platform performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.- Participate in the development and implementation of data governance strategies.- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in data platform technologies.Candidate Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).- 3-7 years of experience in data platform engineering or a related role.- Strong understanding of backend development principles and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python).- Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus.- Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts.- Experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Apache Flink) is preferred.- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for data infrastructure management is a plus.Required Skills:- Backend development skills- Experience with data storage solutions (relational & NoSQL databases)- Data pipeline development and orchestration- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP - preferred)- Understanding of data security and governance principlesAdditional Skills (Preferred):- Experience with API development and integration- Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka)- Experience with data governance and data quality tools- Excellent communication and collaboration skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (ref:hirist.tech)
