Description:
The MongoDB Developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining MongoDB databases and applications. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 7 years of experience in MongoDB development, with a strong understanding of database design principles, query optimization, and data modeling. This role requires hands-on experience in building and optimizing MongoDB databases for performance, scalability, and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Database Design and Modeling :- Design MongoDB schemas and data models to support the requirements of application developers and business stakeholders.- Define indexing strategies and sharding configurations to optimize query performance and ensure scalability.- Implement data partitioning and replication strategies to achieve high availability and fault tolerance.Query Optimization and Performance Tuning :- Write efficient MongoDB queries and aggregation pipelines to retrieve and manipulate data.- Analyze query execution plans and identify opportunities for optimization using index hints, query hints, and aggregation framework optimizations.- Monitor database performance metrics and implement optimizations to enhance query performance and reduce response times.Data Migration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) :- Develop scripts and tools to extract data from various sources, transform it as needed, and load it into MongoDB databases.- Design and implement data migration strategies to move data between MongoDB instances or between MongoDB and other databases.- Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process.Application Development and Integration :- Develop backend services and APIs using MongoDB as the primary data store.- Integrate MongoDB with other technologies and frameworks such as Node.js, Python, or Java.- Implement data access layers and object-document mapping (ODM) frameworks to simplify data access and manipulation.Security and Compliance :- Implement MongoDB security features such as authentication, authorization, encryption, and auditing to protect sensitive data.- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI DSS.- Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.Monitoring and Maintenance :- Set up monitoring and alerting systems to track database performance, availability, and resource utilization.- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as database backups, restores, and upgrades.- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and disruptions.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :- Document database designs, configuration settings, and operational procedures for MongoDB databases.- Share knowledge and best practices with team members through code reviews, tech talks, and internal training sessions.- Contribute to the MongoDB community by sharing insights, code samples, and best practices through forums, blogs, or open-source projects.Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.- 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in MongoDB development, with a strong understanding of database design principles and query optimization techniques.- Proficiency in MongoDB administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.- Experience with MongoDB drivers and libraries for popular programming languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.- MongoDB certification such as MongoDB Certified Developer or MongoDB Certified DBA is a plus.
