MS SQL Database Administrator - Installation & Maintenance (5-7 yrs)

Description:
Responsibilities :- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across various environments (development, testing, production).- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patches as required.- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize SQL queries and database configurations for performance improvements.- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures, including user access management and data encryption.- Backup and restore databases to ensure data integrity and availability.- Troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and data corruption.- Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to support database requirements for applications and systems.- Plan and implement disaster recovery and high availability solutions, such as database mirroring, clustering, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.- Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and best practices.- Provide technical guidance and support to junior DBAs and other team members.JD :1) Monitor generated log and event files for messages indicating errors that will result in an incident2) DR Database availability Monitoring3) DR Database Query Monitor4) Monitor database log replication5) Monitor event logs/error details6) Report Status of Log Replications as per agreed schedules7) Session/Query/Log/Latch monitoring8) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure9) Purging database Logs and trace files10) Periodic config review to maintain consistent configurations11) Review and recommendation to maintain availability12) Monthly report on database availability13) Monitor the DB for failures and logged system events that indicate an imminent failure.14) Reinstall Database software15) Reconfigure log Shipping16) Transaction replication17) Failover clustering18) AlwaysON19) DB encryption20) Link Server21) DB migration 22) Handling Major incident 23) Responding to database related incidents and drive corrective action24) Tuning DB parameters25) Support to SQL DB L2 team for handling critical issue.26) Correlate related incidents together into a problem ticket and manage through the problem management process27) Use trend analysis to identify, detail, categorize, prioritize and create Problems Management Records.28) Restoration of database29) Creating jobs/job schedule for routine/Maintenance jobs & Rebuilding of indexes30) Purging database Logs and trace files & Performance Management31) Defragmentation of Database and performance tuning32) Manage all Service requests through the change management process33) Automate administration tasks where possible34) Manage and update all Database environment documentation (ref:hirist.tech)
