Lead Assistant Manager- Analytics(SQL Developer) Role Overview : - The person will be part of a data services team for a major Insurance client. - He/ She will work with different stakeholders to define solutions for operationalizing data-driven decision making in a cost effective and scalable manner - The person will also be required to participate actively in brainstorming sessions for improvement opportunities and take it to completion while working in an agile framework- A suitable candidate should have 2+ years of experience as a database developer and should possess a go -getter attitude. - He/ She should be able to deal with ambiguity- Experience in insurance preferred but not mandatoryKey Responsibilities & Skill-sets :Common Skill-sets :- Superior analytical and problem solving skills - Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverable with minimal or no supervision- Good communication skill for client interaction- Application development Skill sets :- Strong computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, multithreading, object-oriented development, distributed applications, client-server architecture- Ability to design and implement data processes :- Strong SQL and work experience with MS SQL, or UDB. - Strong experience with Stored Procedures- Expand and optimize data pipelines, data flow, and collection for cross functional teams - Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture by assembling large, complex data sets to meet functional and non-functional business requirements. - Identify and implement internal process improvements including automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability. - Support the building of data platforms, and infrastructure required for optimal data extraction, transformations, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.- Work with architecture, data, and design teams to assist with data related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs. Desirable skills, but not required : - SSIS- ETL/ELT - AWS exposure - Denodo exposure - Some Mainframe Development background- Experience in web services, streaming and messaging technologies is a plusCandidate Profile :- Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas welcome to apply- 2+ years' experience in database development, preferably in Life Insurance but not mandatory- Advance Proficiency with SQL and Stored Procedures in distributed environment.- Team Management- Superior analytical and problem solving skills- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills- Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges- Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe (ref:hirist.tech)
