Description:
Key Responsibilities:- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, Architecture, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Experience, Information Security, and other teams to align database strategies with organizational goals.- Database Design and Support: Provide database design recommendations, create and decommission databases in production and non-production environments.- Data Migration and Backup: Design and conduct data migration processes, database backup, and recovery strategies.- Database Design and Architecture: Participate in database design and data architecture/data modeling activities.- Database Optimization: Optimize development and production database systems in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.- Cloud-Based Database Management: Manage databases within an AWS environment, ensuring optimal performance and security.Qualifications:- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of database administration and development experience with SQL Server, Postgres, and other database platforms, particularly in an AWS environment.- Database Management: Strong experience in database management and administration in AWS.- Cloud Expertise: Expert-level hands-on experience with cloud-based database engineering ecosystems such as AWS.- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of scalable computing systems, data architecture/data modeling, software architecture, database structures, and algorithms.- Linux Proficiency: Working proficiency in a Linux environment.Skills:- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of MSSQL, Postgres, and other database platforms.- Cloud Computing: Proficiency with AWS database services and cloud infrastructure.- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.- Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.- Optimization: Proven track record in optimizing database performance for both development and production systems.
