Job Description : Database Developer - PostgreSQL & OracleWork from Client's Location : Onsite Opportunity Location : Chennai We are looking for a skilled Database Developer with expertise in PostgreSQL as the primary focus and Oracle as a secondary skill. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of database development in both Oracle and PostgreSQL environments, encompassing various aspects such as schema design, stored procedures, triggers, views, and performance optimization.Key Responsibilities :- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring optimal functionality, performance, and data integrity.- Implement and manage database objects including tables, indexes, views, stored procedures, triggers, and constraints.- Utilize PostgreSQL extensions and features to enhance database capabilities.- Develop and optimize SQL queries and database code for efficiency and scalability.- Manage database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.- Automate routine tasks and database maintenance using Ansible or Python scripts.- Perform query tuning and optimization to improve database performance.- Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.Preferred Skills and Qualifications :- Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL and Oracle database development.- Familiarity with database tools such as PgAdmin, SQL Loader, and Oracle SQL Developer.- Experience with Linux environments and basic shell scripting.- Knowledge of cloud platforms and experience deploying databases in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills.- Good communication skills and the ability to document processes effectively.Education and Experience :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- 6 - 8 years of practical experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL database development.This role offers an exciting opportunity for a Database Developer who is passionate about leveraging their skills in Oracle and PostgreSQL to contribute to our dynamic team.
