We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Engineering Manager to lead the team and build/operate products & services for Rakuten Cloud.Position Details :Responsibilities :- Primary goal is managing our cloud operations organization spanning across various infrastructure domains.- We are looking for someone who is strong in managing incidents and have ability to guide the team members for successful resolution of the issue.- Person should be expert in data center & infrastructure technologies and must have hands on experience in both IaaaS (Compute, storage, network ) and PaaS (DB, K8S, Middleware)- Strong is operations process with ability to optimize operations by automating manual tasks and improving overall operational processes.- Excellent in change mgmt., incident mgmt. and problem management.- Drive service quality and uptimes within the organization with well-defined processes and metrics including RCA.- Collaborate with users to understand and improve on their experience.- Hire and groom next-gen technical leaders.- Expertise in ITIL with certification is a plus- Work EnvironmentTeam structure :We are a growing team with about 80-100 members in total located in Bengaluru India. Directors 2, Managers - 8Members: 70+ Most of the team members have multiple years of experience, while a few joined as entry level.Infrastructure used :- IaaS - VM (ESXI), Compute (Dell, Micro servers), Storage (Ceph, MinIO, Netapp, EMC), Network (Cisco, Juniper, Nvidia)- Pass - DB (MYSQL, Oracle, Couchbase, MariaDB, Cassandra ) - K8S, Redis, ELK, Kafka- CentOS, Ubuntu, Redhat- Ansible, ChefProgramming Languages :- Java, Python.Mandatory Qualifications :- 15 - 17 years of total experience in leading infrastructure organization both on-prem and on public cloud.- 10-13 years of management experience with a direct experience of 5+ years in managing directors/sr managers.- Must have managed infrastructure operations for a large enterprise - Extensive experience (Hands-on) in the following technologies: Database (Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, Couchbase) ,Kubernetes, Network (Cisco, Juniper, Cumulus networks), - Exposure managing both onprem and public cloud infra.- Expertise in Change, Incident Management and automation (DevOps).- Experience in developing and leading teams building solutions with cloud technologies.- Experience with SRE practices, including operational architectures, observability, reliability, availability, and scalability.- Strong problem solving and critical thinking ability. - Ability to troubleshoot issues and enable team members to quickly resolve incidents.- Excellent written and communication skills with strong stakeholder management skills. Ability to work across globe with different cultures. - Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. - MBA degree will be a plus.- Exposure to budget management- Knowledge in E-commerce and FinTech sector- Strong leadership primarily focusing on delivering results- Experience of working in cross-culture environment (ref:hirist.tech)
