Job Description – MySQL DBA Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Strong proficiency in MySQL database management Decent experience with recent versions of MySQL and migrating to newer versions Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM Experience with replication configuration in MySQL Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases 7-8 years of relevant experience. Essential Job Functions: Hands on role to optimize MySQL queries, stored procedures, database. Work with customers to help them migrate to newer versions of product. Be the expert in latest features and resolve issues faced by customers during migrations. In case defects are identified, work with development team to get those resolved sooner for the customers. Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal groups within the Firm
