Job Overview: The Accounting Head plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions within a sugar mill or manufacturing environment. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in taxation, TDS, budgeting, and comprehensive knowledge of accounting practices. The Accounting Head will be responsible for handling a substantial turnover of 800-900 crores, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and contributing to strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Financial Oversight: Manage and supervise all financial accounting activities within the organization. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies. Taxation and TDS: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to local and national tax regulations. Manage TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) procedures and ensure timely filing of TDS returns. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Provide insights into financial performance and trends to support strategic decision-making. Budgeting: Develop, monitor, and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the executive team. Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and optimization. Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Audit Coordination: Facilitate internal and external audits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and available for audit purposes. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage the company's cash flow, ensuring optimal utilization of funds and timely payments. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities. ERP and Technology Integration: Utilize and optimize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and other accounting software to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes. Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with senior management in developing long-term financial strategies and plans for sustainable growth. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certification such as CA, CA Dropout, M.com. Proven experience in an accounting or finance role within a manufacturing or sugar mill environment. In-depth knowledge of taxation, TDS, and accounting principles. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Familiarity with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in accounting software. The Accounting Head in this role is crucial to maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing valuable financial insights to support the organization's growth and sustainability.
