Oracle Administrator - Database Implementation (6-8 yrs)

Description:
The Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of our Oracle database environment. This role requires a strong understanding of Oracle database administration principles and a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.Responsibilities : Installation and Configuration : - Install and configure Oracle database software on various platforms (physical/virtual servers)- Create and manage storage structures with high-level security features (e. g. tablespaces, users, roles)- Implement and maintain database security protocols in accordance with best practicesUser Management and Access Control : - Set up database user accounts and assign appropriate privileges- Manage user access and permissions to ensure data securityDatabase Maintenance and Optimization : - Perform regular database backups using Recovery Manager (RMAN) and implement recovery strategies- Monitor database performance and identify potential bottlenecks- Perform database tuning and optimization to improve query performance and overall database efficiency- Manage database space allocation and implement strategies for data archiving and purgingTroubleshooting and Problem Resolution : - Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, including system errors, performance problems, and data corruption- Analyze database logs and identify root causes of issues- Implement solutions to resolve database problems and ensure data integrityOther Duties : - Stay up-to-date on the latest Oracle database technologies and best practices- Document database configurations and procedures- Participate in database upgrade and migration projects (if applicable)- Collaborate with developers and other IT professionals to ensure optimal database performance and functionalityQualifications : - 6-8 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator or related role- Proven experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases on various platforms- Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture, security concepts, and backup/recovery procedures- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills- Experience with SQL and PL/SQL scripting- Excellent analytical and communication skills- Ability to work independently and as part of a team- Working knowledge of operating systems (Windows/Linux/Unix) is a plus- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and GoldenGate (a plus) (ref:hirist.tech)
