Lead Network Engineer - Routing & Switching (7-8 yrs) Bangalore (DevOps)

Description:
- You will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our network infrastructure, ensuring its stability, performance, and security.- You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network while mentoring and guiding junior network engineers.Responsibilities : Technical Skills : - Configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices, primarily Cisco and Meraki routers, switches, and firewalls.- Configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Palo Alto firewalls.- Extensive experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies (VLANs, VTP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, QoS).- Experience with circuit troubleshooting and working with ISPs.- Experience with configuring and troubleshooting VPNs.- Proven experience with network security best practices.- Familiarity with network automation tools (Python, Bash scripting) is a plus.Leadership and Collaboration : - Lead, mentor, and coach junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning environment.- Participate in the design, definition, and review of network architecture models with other network engineers, senior network engineers, and network architects.- Work effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., security, applications) to ensure network alignment with overall business goals.- Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.Process and Documentation : - Implement, maintain, and improve network incident, problem, and change management processes.- Participate in bridge calls for high-priority network incidents.- Work with end-users to troubleshoot escalated network issues.- Plan, review, and execute network changes in a production environment with minimal downtime.- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, architectures, and configurations.- Utilize ITSM tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy for ticketing and incident management.Availability : - Maintain a flexible schedule with the ability to work rotational shifts, weekends, and on-call as required.- Be open to working off-hours for implementing network changes.Skills : Essential : - 7+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- CCNA and CCNP certifications.- Palo Alto firewall experience.- Meraki switch experience.- Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills in English.- Keen attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.- Experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.- Experience working with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
