Job Title : Technical Consultant Network & WirelessRelevant Experience : 8 + yearsJob Grade : TS4Responsibilities :- Design, plan, establish, and optimize wireless networks.- Design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks.- Develop wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.- Be the lead for any wireless related activities.- Provide technical assessment of requirements and definition from conception to launch.- Train and mentor other engineers.- Design and validate RF link performance, quality and reliability.- Use measuring and diagnostic tools to test and adjust equipment.- Create manuals and support documentation.- Optimize existing network by adjusting radio network parameters, adding/deleting of neighbours and recommending possible solutions to hardware problems- Monitor and analyse statistical and drive test data to improve system performance indicators.- Responsible for capacity planningProficient in at least 2 of the following technologies :- Cisco- Meraki- ArubaAny Wireless related certifications would be a great plus.- Cisco - CWNP- Meraki- Aruba- This role involves client interaction.- The scope of products / vendors covers below too.- Cisco (Routing & SDWAN, ACI / Catalyst & Nexus Switching /Firewalls/F5 Load Balancers)Secondary Skills : Experienced in one of the following :- Palo Alto/FortiGate/ASA/Firepower Firewall/Cisco ACI Accountabilities :- Act on Incidents reported by our network management tools.- Act on Incidents reported by the customer (via our service desk)- Proactively test & upgrade software on various devices- Analyse capacity management reports & propose improvements.- Prepare and execute Change requests.- Remotely Configure new devices- Interact with multiple teams (Helpdesk, Customer, Service delivery Managers)- Make technical advisory / designs for customer network migrations.- Make technical advisory to improve customer security environment.- Communicate & raise incidents to 3the party (vendors / telecom providers)- Create and update documentation sets.- Propose improvement plans (technical & human activity)- Proactively seek guidance from peers and seniors where required.- Team presentations on your activities- Propose improvements for our network management tools / Configuration.- Analyse reporting before used by Service Delivery Manager- Understand vendor product / solution evolutions.Core Skills :- Minimum 8 years relevant experience in Wireless (Cisco, Meraki and or Aruba) as well as any of the Firewall experience mentioned inSecondary Skills :- Hands on experience to work in an ITIL structured organisation dealing with Incident / Change / Problem management.- Expert with implementing and supporting routing protocols.- Experience with Wireshark or other protocol analysers.- Configuring network & security devices with end-to-end security in mind.- Configuring end to end Quality of Service- Troubleshoot using traffic analysers, NetFlow collector, capacity management tools- Understand to interpret wireless (WIFI) site survey reports.- Execute / tune wireless (WIFI) radio management.- Incident Report Document writing.- Documentation (MS Word) & drawing (MS Visio) updates - Participating in Team & Customer meetings. Soft Skills- Driven and Customer focused.- Ability to work well under pressure.- Proactive Attitude- Problem Solving- Excellent Communication - Verbal & Written- Independent and resourceful with minimal supervision- Team player- Take initiative- Certification/Training- Masters or graduate degree holderSkills :- Excellent knowledge & Experience with the Wireless technologies - Preferred Certifications below (Certifications as an added advantage) - CCIE/CWNA/CCNP Wireless/Aruba Wireless/Meraki Wireless is preferred.- Cisco CCNP/CCIE R&S / Security - Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCNSE)- NS5/NSE6- Meraki Certified Meraki Network Operator- Awareness ITIL V3 framework - English speaking & writing skills (ref:hirist.tech)
