Job Description :- We are seeking a skilled AIX Administrator to join our team.- The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration and maintenance of AIX systems, ensuring their smooth operation and optimal performance.- The role requires expertise in system administration, AIX administration, managing Hardware Management Console (HMC), Logical Volume Manager (LVM), and proficiency in shell scripting.- If you are a proactive problem-solver with a passion for system administration, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities : - Manage and maintain AIX systems to ensure high availability, performance, and security.- Perform installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of AIX operating systems and related software.- Configure and manage hardware resources using the Hardware Management Console (HMC).- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.- Implement and maintain logical volume management (LVM) for efficient storage management.- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline system administration processes.- Implement security measures and protocols to protect AIX systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.- Perform system backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and fellow team members as needed.- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in AIX administration and system management.- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference. Skills and Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).- Proven experience in system administration with a focus on AIX environments.- In-depth knowledge of AIX operating system internals, configuration, and administration.- Hands-on experience with Hardware Management Console (HMC) for managing AIX hardware resources.- Proficiency in Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for storage management on AIX systems.- Strong scripting skills, particularly in shell scripting (e.g., bash, ksh) for automation and task simplification.- Familiarity with system monitoring and performance tuning techniques.- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.- Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator - AIX or equivalent (preferred).
