Role Overview :We are seeking a highly skilled Manual API/Microservices Testing Engineer with extensive experience in testing APIs and microservices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality testing solutions.This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.Key Responsibilities :Test Planning: Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for API and microservices testing based on project requirements and specifications.Test Execution: Execute test cases manually to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of APIs and microservices.Perform regression testing as needed.Defect Management: Identify, track, and report defects using issue tracking tools.Work closely with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.API Testing: Conduct testing of RESTful and SOAP APIs, including functional testing, integration testing, and validation of response data.Microservices Testing: Validate the behavior and interactions of microservices within complex architectures.Verify data flow, error handling, and system integration points.Performance Testing: Collaborate with performance testing teams to validate the performance and scalability of APIs and microservices under different load conditions.Documentation: Document test results, findings, and test artifacts.Create test summary reports and provide status updates to project stakeholders.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure alignment on testing objectives and priorities.Required Skills and Qualifications :Experience: 8-12 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on API and microservices testing.Technical Skills: Solid understanding of API testing tools and frameworks.Proficiency in using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar for API testing.Testing Methodologies: Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including black-box testing, white-box testing, integration testing, and regression testing.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to analyze complex systems and identify areas for improvement.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in testing activities.Ability to identify edge cases and corner cases for thorough testing coverage.Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.Preferred Qualifications :Certifications: Relevant certifications in software testing (e. g., ISTQB Certified Tester) or API testing (e. g., Postman Certified API Developer) are a plus.Domain Knowledge: Experience working in domains such as e-commerce, finance, healthcare, or telecommunications is desirable.Automation Skills: Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) for API automation testing is advantageous.
