Overview :The role of an OpenShift/Kubernetes System Administrator is integral to the organization as it involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing the OpenShift and Kubernetes infrastructure to ensure efficient application deployment and operation, as well as the overall reliability and security of the system.Key Responsibilities :Deploying and maintaining OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters.Collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure smooth application deployment and integration.Implementing best practices for security and compliance within OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.Monitoring system performance and capacity to ensure scalability and reliability.Providing troubleshooting and issue resolution for OpenShift/Kubernetes infrastructure.Automating routine tasks and maintaining high availability.Developing and maintaining system documentation and standard operating procedures.Implementing backup and recovery strategies for OpenShift/Kubernetes resources.Participating in on-call rotation and responding to system alerts and incidents.Collaborating with other teams to optimize the infrastructure for high performance.Required Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.Professional certification in OpenShift or Kubernetes.Experience in Linux system administration and scripting.Proficiency in networking concepts and protocols.Demonstrated experience in managing OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters in production environments.Knowledge of containerization technologies and best practices.Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.Understanding of security principles and best practices for containerized environments.Experience with monitoring and logging tools for OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
