Overview : The Kafka Admin plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining Apache Kafka clusters and ensuring their optimal performance. This position is vital in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the Kafka infrastructure, which is essential for real-time data processing and analytics within the organization. The Kafka Admin collaborates with various teams to understand their data processing needs and implements robust Kafka clusters to support these requirements.Key responsibilities :- Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters across development, testing, and production environments.- Establish and enforce Kafka security protocols, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.- Monitor Kafka performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cluster efficiency.- Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for Kafka clusters.- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement Kafka topics, partitions, and partitions replicas.- Manage and maintain Kafka connectors for seamless data integration.- Implement and manage Kafka schema registry for data quality and consistency.- Conduct regular Kafka cluster health checks and capacity planning.- Develop and maintain documentation related to Kafka architecture, processes, and procedures.- Participate in on-call support for Kafka-related incidents and issues.Required Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Proven experience in administrating Apache Kafka clusters in a production environment.- Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, configuration, and performance tuning.- Proficient in Kafka security implementation and best practices.- Experience in integrating Kafka with monitoring and logging tools for real-time cluster oversight.- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and monitoring tasks.- Solid understanding of networking principles and TCP/IP protocol suite.- Experience with Kafka ecosystem components like Kafka Connect, KSQL, and Kafka Streams.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.Skills : kafka, troubleshooting, cluster.
