With a customer base of over 37,000 merchants from more than a 100 countries that's rapidly growing everyday, we have the opportunity to create a truly massive impact on a global scale.Position OverviewWe are looking for a strong, hands-on Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team working on one of our key strategic initiatives. In this role, in addition to leading our product development efforts, you'll have the opportunity to influence our business strategy and organizational culture, and to shape the future of a rapidly growing organization. You will own the software development life cycle from soup to nuts and ultimately be responsible for delivering a world-class product that our customers love.Key Responsibilities :- Responsible for leading and managing a team of engineers. This involves setting clear goals, providing guidance and support, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.- Provide technical expertise and guidance to their team members. Help solve complex technical problems, offer advice on best practices, and ensure that engineering standards are maintained.- Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging experimentation, learning, and innovation. This may involve implementing new processes, tools, or technologies to enhance productivity and quality.- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects. This includes defining project scope, allocating resources, establishing timelines, and ensuring that projects are completed on time. Monitor goal progress, identifying dependencies, and proactively addressing challenges as they arise.- Assess the performance of the team members, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development and career growth. Involve in hiring and onboarding new engineers. Build new teams as required.- Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and other stakeholders, such as upper management, merchants, and cross-functional teams. This involves communicating project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.Qualifications :You have 8+ years of software product development - managing all aspects of a successful software development life cycle.You are an outcome-driven individual - you do what it takes to ship with quality and clear impact. You have a proven track record of shipping often.You are committed to product-led growth. You get excited to build products that just work and have your software run on 1000s of websites used by millions of end users.You are passionate about solving 0-1 problems with solutions designed for scaleYou excel with small teams. You have experience in hiring and grooming and building teams to have a strong sense of ownership and solid engineering cultureYou have had your share of failures and take pride in sharing the lessons you've learned from those experiencesFunctional programming experience - You are a true believer in the value of functional programming and get excited by code that expresses an idea clearly. If you have prior experience with Clojure, that's awesome - but even if you don't and are excited about learning the language, we'd LOVE to chat.Familiarity with building and maintaining large scale systemsAn eye for aesthetics - We are engineers with a deep love for aesthetics, so if you have something visually pleasing to show us from your past work, don't be shy, we love that stuff!Prior startup experience - Maybe you've been an early employee at another startup, or better yet, you've tried something on your own.
