Job Description :As an ABAP OData Consultant, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing ABAP based OData services to enable seamless integration between SAP and external systems. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements, design robust solutions, and deliver high-quality code that meets functional and performance requirements.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ABAP development and a deep understanding of OData protocol and best practices.Key Responsibilities :Requirement Analysis :- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyze requirements for OData services integration.- Conduct workshops and discussions to understand business processes, data models, and integration points.- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.ABAP Development :- Develop custom ABAP code to implement OData services based on defined requirements and design specifications.- Implement data models, service interfaces, and business logic using ABAP programming language and SAP development tools.- Ensure adherence to SAP coding standards, best practices, and performance guidelines.OData Service Implementation :- Design and implement OData services using SAP Gateway or similar tools to expose SAP business data to external applications.- Configure service endpoints, define entity types, and establish navigation paths according to OData protocol standards.- Implement CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations and support batch processing as required.Integration and Testing :- Integrate OData services with external systems, middleware platforms, and SAP modules to enable seamless data exchange.- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing to validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of OData services.- Identify and troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions as needed.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:- Create technical documentation, including design documents, code comments, and test cases, to support development and maintenance activities.- Share knowledge and best practices with team members, provide mentoring and guidance on ABAP OData development techniques.Qualifications :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.- 7-10 years of experience in ABAP development, with a focus on OData service development and integration.- Strong proficiency in ABAP programming language, SAP development tools (e.g., ABAP Workbench, Eclipse), and SAP Gateway.- Deep understanding of OData protocol, including entity types, associations, navigation properties, and CRUD operations.- Experience with SAP modules such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, or SAP BW/4HANA is highly desirable.- Knowledge of SAP Fiori/UI5 development is a plus.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and technical teams.
