Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data QA Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our big data platform and data solutions. You will leverage your expertise in Big Data testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and scripting languages to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans.Responsibilities :Testing and Quality Assurance :- Design, develop, and maintain a robust QA framework for the big data platform and data solutions using Java, JMeter, JUnit, Selenium, and QuerySurge.- Design and implement automated test scripts in Java for big data pipelines and functionalities.- Design test procedures, scenarios, and scripts to comprehensively test new features, updates, and functionality of the big data platform.- Execute test plans, analyze results, identify defects (bugs, functionality issues, output errors) and document them thoroughly.- Work collaboratively with data engineers to diagnose and resolve issues identified during testing.- Develop retesting procedures to ensure identified issues are fixed effectively.Data Expertise :- Utilize SQL knowledge to extract and analyze data for test case creation and execution.Agile and Collaboration :- Experience working in Agile Scrum methodologies in a fast-paced environment.- Proficient with productivity tools like Jira and Confluence for project management and collaboration.- Work closely with Business System Analysts (BSAs) to understand requirements and translate them into testable scenarios and automated scripts.Qualifications :- 5-8 years of experience working in Big Data testing.- Strong understanding of big data architectures and technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)- Solid knowledge of Java and proficiency in automation scripting frameworks, preferably Selenium.- Experience with JMeter, JUnit, and QuerySurge is a plus.- Experience and exposure to BI tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.- Strong SQL knowledge for data manipulation and test case design.- Understanding of current and best practices in QA for Big Data environments.- Experience working in Agile Scrum teams and with project management tools.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
