About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage Engineer to join our team and play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our enterprise storage infrastructure. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in storage technologies, experience with leading storage solutions (EMC, Hitachi, NetApp), and a passion for ensuring data availability and performance.Responsibilities:- Manage and administer enterprise storage area networks (SANs) from leading vendors (Hitachi VSP, IBM DS, EMC VMAX/PMAX/Data Domain).- Configure and manage network-attached storage (NAS) systems (NetApp, EMC, Hitachi) for efficient file sharing.- Design, implement, and manage SAN fabrics using Cisco MDS or Brocade switches.- Ensure optimal SAN performance through monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.- Utilize SAN migration tools from Hitachi, IBM, and EMC for efficient data movement.- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot storage replication for disaster recovery purposes.- Perform storage deployments, including installation, configuration, allocation, and de-allocation of resources.- Understand and manage backup and recovery solutions (e.g., EMC/Veritas).- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions for storage equipment (SAN/NAS).- Troubleshoot issues related to storage networking protocols (SMB, NFS, CIFS).- Escalate complex issues internally or to storage OEM vendors for resolution.- Maintain a strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6+) and IBM AIX operating systems.- Possess excellent communication skills for collaborating effectively with internal teams.Requirements :- 5-12 years of experience in storage administration, management, and operations.- Proven experience with enterprise SAN solutions from Hitachi, IBM, or EMC (VMAX/PMAX/Data Domain).- In-depth knowledge of NAS systems from NetApp, EMC, or Hitachi.- Familiarity with SAN fabric technologies (Cisco MDS, Brocade) and design principles.- Experience with SAN migration tools and storage replication techniques.- Understanding of backup and recovery solutions for storage systems.- Ability to perform storage performance monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.- Experience with RHEL 6+ and/or IBM AIX operating systems.- Solid understanding of storage networking protocols (SMB, NFS, CIFS).- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for troubleshooting storage issues.- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working in a team environment.- A valid Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Microsoft Certified Server Administrator (MCSA), or a relevant Storage OEM certification (EMC, Hitachi) is a plus.
