About the Role : The Information Network & Security Officers serve as the process owner of all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee and business information in compliance with the organisation's information security policies.Job Responsibilities :- Information Network & Security Officers (INSOs) typically have a more specialized focus compared to Information Security Officers (ISOs), with an emphasis on the networking aspect of information security.Here are some key roles and responsibilities of Information Network & Security Officers:. Key Responsibilities :Developing Information Security Policies and Procedures : - Create, review, and update information security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.Implementing Security Controls and Technologies : - Identify, evaluate, and deploy security controls and technologies to protect the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and data.- This includes firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, encryption solutions, access controls, and security monitoring tools.Risk Management and Assessment : - Conduct risk assessments to identify, analyze, and prioritize information security risks.- Develop risk mitigation strategies and controls to address identified risks and vulnerabilities.Compliance Management : - Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information security and data protection (e.g.ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR- etc).- Monitor regulatory developments and update security practices accordingly.Security Awareness and Training : - Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to educate employees about security threats, best practices, and compliance requirements.- Foster a culture of security awareness and accountability throughout the organization.Incident Response and Management : - Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures to effectively respond to and manage security incidents and breaches.- Lead incident response efforts, including containment, investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis.Vendor and Third-Party Risk Management : - Assess and manage security risks associated with vendors, suppliers, and third-party service providers.- Evaluate vendor security controls and ensure compliance with contractual security requirements.Security Monitoring and Analysis : - Monitor security events and alerts from various sources, including security information and event management (SIEM) systems, to detect and investigate potential security incidents.- Analyze security logs and data for signs of unauthorized activity or threats.Policy Enforcement and Compliance Audits : - Enforce information security policies and procedures throughout the organization.- Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments to evaluate adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements.Reporting and Communication : - Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders on the organization's security and governance posture, risks, compliance status, and ongoing initiatives.Skills :- 3+ years of direct experience in information security, with a main emphasis on risk and compliance.- 3+ years of expertise conducting ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits, as well as handling audit responses.- Thorough understanding of market structures, including relevant regulatory compliance requirements (ISO27001, SOC 2 , NIST, PCI, GDPR, etc).- Knowledge of identity management standards, storage, and disaster recovery in the cloud.- Knowledge of GRC tool techniques and best practices.- Proven track record of organizing and carrying out several risk and compliance projects.- Ability to successfully manage third-party audits, compile evidence, and organize audit responses.- Keen attention to detail.- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the capability to communicate with cross-functional teams (ref:hirist.tech)
