Description:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Migration Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and optimization of data and application migrations across various platforms and technologies. You will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transition of critical systems to new environments, minimizing downtime and disruption to our operations.Responsibilities :- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand migration requirements, source and target systems, and define migration strategies.- Assess the complexity of migrations, identify potential risks and dependencies, and develop detailed migration plans.- Design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy during migration.- Utilize migration tools and frameworks (e.g. CloudEndure, AWS Migration Hub, Microsoft Migration Assistant) to automate migration tasks.- Script migration procedures using scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell (as needed).- Conduct thorough pre-migration testing to identify and mitigate potential issues.- Execute migrations with minimal downtime and disruption to ongoing operations.- Validate data accuracy and completeness after migration and ensure successful cutover.- Monitor and troubleshoot migration issues, working with other teams to resolve problems.- Document migration processes, lessons learned, and best practices.- Stay up-to-date with the latest migration technologies, tools, and methodologies.Qualifications :Educational Qualifications : Bachelor's/Master's- 4-8 years of experience in data or application migrations.- Strong understanding of data migration principles, ETL processes, and data integrity techniques.- Experience with cloud migration tools and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) (a plus).- Experience with on-premises to cloud migrations (a plus). -Experience with database migration tools and technologies (e. g. Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Migration Assistant) (a plus).- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell (a plus). - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)- Experience with DevOps methodologies in migration projects- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) (ref:hirist.tech)
