Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Data Privacy Specialist to join our growing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our comprehensive data privacy program. You will be a champion for data subject rights, ensuring compliance with all relevant data privacy regulations and promoting a strong culture of privacy within the organization.Responsibilities :- Lead the development and implementation of a robust data privacy program aligned with industry best practices and applicable regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).- Conduct comprehensive data privacy risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential data breaches and privacy violations.- Develop and maintain detailed data inventories, including data mapping and classification of personal data.- Manage the Subject Rights Request (SRR) process, ensuring timely and compliant responses to data subject access requests, rectification requests, and erasure requests.- Develop and deliver privacy awareness training programs to educate employees on data privacy policies, procedures, and best practices.- Collaborate with legal and IT teams to ensure adherence to data privacy regulations and implement appropriate technical and organizational controls.- Stay up-to-date on emerging data privacy regulations and industry trends, and advise on the impact to the organization.- Develop and maintain comprehensive data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines.- Oversee vendor management practices to ensure third-party compliance with data privacy regulations.- Monitor and report on data privacy incidents and breaches, implementing corrective actions as needed.- Conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness of the data privacy program and identify areas for improvement.- Advocate for data privacy within the organization and promote a culture of data minimization and responsible data handling.Qualifications :- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's- 6-10 years of experience in data privacy compliance or a related field.- In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and their compliance requirements.- Proven experience in developing and implementing data privacy programs.- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, data mapping, and data classification techniques.- Experience in managing Subject Rights Requests (SRRs).- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.- Ability to translate complex legal and technical concepts into clear and concise language for various audiences.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.- Project management and organizational skills.- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.Desired Skills :- Experience in conducting data privacy impact assessments (PIA).- Experience with data privacy management tools (e.g., OneTrust, Ipro).- Experience working with cross-functional teams (legal, IT, HR, marketing).- Experience in privacy by design (PbD) methodologies.- Certifications in data privacy (e.g. CIPP/E, CIPM) (a plus).
