About the Role :We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead SQL Developer to join our growing database team. This role is ideal for a passionate developer with 8-9 years of experience who thrives in a leadership role. As a Lead SQL Developer, you will be responsible for complex SQL development, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and mentoring junior developers.Responsibilities :- Lead the development and implementation of high-performance SQL queries for various data retrieval and manipulation tasks.- Analyze existing SQL queries and database objects for performance optimization.- Identify and troubleshoot complex database issues related to SQL queries, stored procedures, and other objects.- Design and develop efficient and scalable database solutions to meet evolving business needs.- Mentor and guide junior developers on best practices for SQL development and performance tuning.- Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in SQL technologies and database management systems.- Collaborate effectively with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.- Document SQL code and database objects clearly and concisely.- Develop and maintain database testing strategies to ensure data integrity and application functionality.- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.- Monitor database performance and proactively identify potential bottlenecks.- Manage support processes related to database issues, ensuring timely resolution within agreed SLAs.- Track and report on database metrics to maintain database health and performance.Technical Skills :- Very strong SQL skills, including writing new queries, modifying existing queries, and analyzing for performance optimization.- In-depth knowledge of SQL performance tuning techniques and best practices.- Proven experience in troubleshooting database issues related to SQL, stored procedures, and other database objects.- Experience with database administration tasks may be a plus (e.g., user management, backup/recovery).Additional Skills :- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Strong understanding of database support processes, metrics, and service level agreements (SLAs).- Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
