About the job :The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing virtualization and containerization strategies, creating virtual machines on Linux servers, and establishing high-performing and configurable build environments for development, test, and staging purposes. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will play a critical role in optimizing our infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability.Responsibilities :- Plan, design, and implement virtualization and containerization strategies using tools such as VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes.- Create and manage virtual machines on Linux servers, ensuring optimal resource allocation and performance.- Establish and maintain build environments (e.g., development, test, staging) to support software development lifecycle processes.- Collaborate with development and QA teams to provision and configure environments for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.- Optimize infrastructure for high performance, scalability, and reliability.- Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and availability of infrastructure components.- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance infrastructure capabilities.- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.Requirements :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).- Proven experience (8+ years) in infrastructure engineering, virtualization, and containerization.- Hands-on experience with VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and other virtualization/containerization technologies.- Proficiency in Linux server administration and shell scripting.- Strong understanding of networking concepts, storage systems, and security best practices.- Experience in creating and managing build environments for software development and testing.- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications :- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) is a plus.- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.- Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).- Experience with performance tuning and optimization of infrastructure components.- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.Skills : (ref:hirist.tech)
