Note: This Is A Remote Role For An Overseas CompanyJob Description :We Seeking a Head of Engineering with a strong background in startup and scale-up environments, ready to lead our engineering efforts with strategic vision and technical excellence. The ideal candidate excels in developing and scaling high-performance systems, embodies strong leadership and programming capabilities, and thrives in fast-paced settings. Your role will involve a hands-on approach to coding and architecture, alongside nurturing a culture of innovation within the engineering team to align with Smartlead's ambitious objectives. Key Responsibilities :- Design and implement scalable backend infrastructure capable of managing hundreds of thousands of concurrent requests, prioritizing system reliability and performance.- Lead the engineering team, providing mentorship and scaling the team to meet the growing needs of the business.- Work closely with other departments to ensure engineering goals complement business strategies, contributing significantly to the company's vision and success.- Commit to a hands-on coding approach, dedicating 70% of your time to programming and feature development.- Guide the team in adopting best practices for software development and deployment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code.- Proactively engage with the product and support teams to address customer feedback, resolve issues, and facilitate the continuous enhancement of Smartlead's offerings Qualifications :- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the technology sector, with at least 2 years in a Head of Engineering or similar leadership role.- Exceptional proficiency in Node.js and AWS services including EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, Lambda, Redis, API Gateways, Fargate, Docker, and more.- Strong background in GraphQL, REST, and SQL, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of database and API design.- Demonstrated track record of being a hardcore programmer, with a large % of your role focused on coding and feature releases.- Previous experience in architecting, developing, and scaling systems to support 100,000s of concurrent requests.- Proven ability to lead and inspire an engineering team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation within a fast-paced environment.- Excellent problem-solving skills, alongside outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.- A profound interest in the startup ecosystem, with a strong desire to make a significant impact on the future of email marketing.
