Responsibilities: Technology Procurement Management Expertise Team Leadership Circa $36M portfolio Build the Technology Procurement Capability & Team Continued Investment in Ariba Platform Significant Change Agenda POSITION PURPOSE The Technology Procurement Manager is responsible for the enterprise-level optimisation of technology procurement and maximising the value of IDP’s technology supplier relationships.Establishing and managing IDP technology procurement function including the activities, processes, roles, and accountabilities for all IDP Technology procurement, contracts, support, maintenance, and vendor performance management. Engaging and Impactful Projects The Technology Procurement Manager’s role will include: Category Management . Delivering on identified opportunities for effective Category Management with expected impact measured in the millions . Collaborative Teams . Working with other members of the Technology Management Office, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Project Teams and IDP’s Technology Support teams oriented toward the adoption of smart technologies and improved processes. Communication . S ignificantly , and continuously, optimising and rais ing the understanding of Technology Procurement Processes across stakeholder groups. Optimising Risk . Working with Corporate Procurement, Legal, Risk, Accounts Payable and other members of the Technology Management Office to optimise IDP’s approach to managing Technology Vendor Risk. Align to Technology Capability Goals Work closely with Technology Leadership to develop strategies and plans to optimize a TCO view of technology procurement outcomes. Alignment to Technology Strategy and Operating Model Create a flexible org design that meets their needs and allows them to engage with an extended group of stakeholders. Execute Sourcing initiatives in conjunction with Project Teams. Enterprise Architecture and other TMO members. Procurement Contract Management Work with Project teams, and IDP Legal, to formalize IDP Head Agreements and Procurement Contracts. Mature contract life cycle management by implementing advanced contract analytics to handle risk and regulatory changes. Relationships InternalExternal Technology Procurement Team Director Technology Management Office Technology Business Manager IDP Legal Group Technology Leadership Team Regional and Corporate Leaders Service Management Finance Business Partners Procurement Business Partners Vendors, Suppliers, and Partners Person Specification Background Extensive experience (7-10 years) in Technology Procurement function of a non-Technology company. Experience in managing the diverse procurement needs of an internal Technology organization for a Global Company. Essential requirements Dynamic Environment Able to cope with a high energy environment with multiple workstreams simultaneously. Has the intellectual curiosity to challenge assumptions, push boundaries, and exhibit intrinsic motivation to explore new solutions. Team Leadership Demonstrable experience in establishing and leading a modern internal Technology Procurement capability. Procurement Operations A strong understanding of Technology Procurement process patterns, contracts, typical clauses, and contract structures. Experienced in designing outcome-based procurement internal services in the context of technology capability objectives. Good exposure and knowledge of technology procurement - in particular experience with enterprise platforms and business solutions software agreements would be highly regarded Communications Excellence Strong stakeholder management skills. The executive level communication skills necessary to convince a federated technology organization to adopt an enterprise-optimized technology procurement model. Effectively share and synthesis information with others; able to affect decisions and guide stakeholders. Tailor communication and influence style depending on need. Leverages networks to share information and guide outcomes. Sourcing and Contracts Procurement negotiation experience in multiple technology categories at an enterprise level. Strong understanding of Procurement Contracts, appropriate clauses, and execution processes. Desirable requirements Experience with the Ariba tool including: Sourcing, Contract Management, and Buyer. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Commerce, Law or similar is desirable.
