Job Description :- 5+ years of experience working in a software product development organization building modern and scalable big data applications.- Expertise with Scala functional programming (intermediate/advanced level is a mandate).- Data structures and algorithms in Scala.- Fluency in Hadoop technologies around handling big data processing e.g. Spark.- Experience implementing RESTful web services in Scala, Python, or similar languages.- Experience with NoSQL and SQL databases.- Experience in information retrieval and machine learning. Additional Requirements :- Familiarity with GeoSpatial concepts is a plus.Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and implement big data applications using Scala functional programming (intermediate/advanced level). - Demonstrate strong proficiency in Scala data structures and algorithms. - Utilize Hadoop technologies (e.g., Spark) to effectively manage and process large datasets. - Implement RESTful web services in Scala, Python, or similar languages for data interaction and integration. - Manage NoSQL and SQL databases for data storage and retrieval. - Design and implement solutions using information retrieval and machine learning techniques. - Maintain and optimize existing big data pipelines to ensure efficiency and scalability. - Collaborate with data scientists and developers to understand data needs and translate them into technical requirements. - Troubleshoot and debug big data processing issues to ensure smooth system operation. - Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in big data technologies and best practices.
