Job Description : We're now looking for an outstanding Senior Observability Platform Engineer to join our Core Platforms & Services Division. You will have a rare and exciting opportunity to work with cutting edge technologies that drives innovation and ensures the reliability of running workloads in a flexible, scalable and secure way.With an already strong and mature DevOps and Infrastructure as Code approach we focus on further developing and innovating new parts of our platform as well as enabling and guiding our technical users and DevOps teams. You will also contribute to the continuous operations and improvement of our 24/7 Ecommerce infrastructure.The Team & Tech Environment :- We're embedded in the ethos of a dynamic and collaborative environment which emphasizes best practice and believe quality is everyone's responsibility.- The Platform Engineering team is responsible for two core technical products: The Container Orchestration Platform and the Observability Platform.- Our Container Orchestration Platform serves as the central execution platform for all workloads in the cloud, utilizing Multi-Cluster Kubernetes, Istio, and an AWS multi-account structure.- Our Observability Platform, including log management with the Elastic Stack and monitoring/alerting with Prometheus, provide essential insights into our IT infrastructure.Qualifications :Your Responsibilities :- Develop and manage our Container Orchestration Platform, overseeing a diverse ecosystem of over 2,000 applications. - This includes Multi-Cluster/Multi-tenant Kubernetes with 15+ clusters per environment, Istio Multi-cluster Mesh, and an AWS multi-account structure.- Design, enhance, and implement additional services for our centralized Observability Platforms, ensuring efficient log management based on the Elastic Stack, and effective monitoring and alerting powered by Prometheus.- Continuously improve the availability and stability of our platform, working closely with the team to identify and resolve any disruptions that may impact the company's business operations.- Provide innovative solutions by leveraging a combination of open-source tools and implementing custom solutions when necessary.- Transfer knowledge and support our Development/DevOps teams in adopting and utilizing our products and services efficiently. - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive success and foster aculture of continuous improvement.- Participate in a rotating on-call duty schedule, providing support and assistance for the services within our team's responsibilityWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :- 7 plus years of Platform Engineering (Kubernetes Management & provisioning, Kubernetes Observability Stack) experience.Solid knowledge and experience across several of the following areas :- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in AWS Cloud infrastructure and Services, including IaC provisioning tools such as Terraform- Architecture design and operations of Kubernetes in production environments.- Log processing and analysis using the Elastic Stack, including configuration and optimization of Elasticsearch clusters in production.- Time series data collection, processing, storage, and visualization, utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Prometheus Thanos, Telegraf, or others.- Application Performance Monitoring and Tracing, such as Jaeger, Elastic APM, or similar solutions.- Proficiency with the DevOps toolbox, including git & Docker, as well as Atlassian family products, and others.- Strong scripting skills using Bash and Python, along with the ability to debug, optimize, and automate tasks.- Knowledge of network infrastructure basics, including DNS, DHCP, firewalling, and load balancing, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.- English Job ProficiencyBonus points for : proficient knowledge of GCP and Azure Clouds- University degree in IT and Software (desired) (ref:hirist.tech)
