Role & Responsibilities :System Maintenance and Optimization :- Lead efforts to maintain and optimize the performance, scalability, and reliability of our Ruby on Rails application.- Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum performance.Database Management :- Manage the MySQL database backend, including schema design, query optimization, and data migration tasks.- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data.Microservices Integration : - Oversee the integration of microservices into the application architecture, ensuring seamless communication and efficient data exchange between components.- Design and implement APIs for microservices interaction, adhering to best practices for security and performance.Cloud Infrastructure Management :- Collaborate with the DevOps team to manage the deployment and scaling of application components on AWS and GCP.- Optimize cloud infrastructure resources to balance performance, cost, and scalability requirements.Technical Leadership :- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our architecture and recommending appropriate solutions.Documentation and Reporting :- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, configurations, and processes.- Generate regular reports on system performance, uptime, and security compliance.Requirements :- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.- Extensive experience (5 years) in Ruby on Rails development, with a deep understanding of its principles and best practices.- Proficiency in MySQL database administration, including schema design, optimization, and maintenance.- Strong understanding of microservices architecture patterns and experience integrating microservices into complex applications.- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP, including deploying and managing infrastructure using services like EC2, RDS, Lambda, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), etc.- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a track record of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.An extra dose of awesome if you have :- Experience with other programming languages and frameworks, such as Python, Node.js, etc.- Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Certified Professional Architect).- Previous experience in a senior or lead architect role within a similar technology stack.Good-to-Have Skills : DatabaseMust-Have Skills : ROR, Javascript, AWSNote :- Any database will work. Oracle ERP, Elastic is preferred. If not elastic then ELK. - Good communication skills. - Handling high level complex projects (ref:hirist.tech)
