General Description/Purpose The Tax Assistant is a temporary assignment to assist ONX Inc with coordinating and preparing payroll tax filings and remittances. Your job duties will include reviewing quarterly tax filings, tax notices and mail, creating master sheets on excel and responding to tax tickets. As a Tax Assistant, you need an elevated level of attention to detail, a thorough understanding of database and spreadsheet technology, and impeccable record-keeping and organizational skills. You also need to know the basics of tax law and the principles of confidentiality. Essential Job Functions Perform tax assistant duties to the ONX Payroll and HR Team. and developing business partnerships that enable the delivery of world-class HR/People support. Assisting in managing external service providers websites related to tax notices and filings. in handling tax litigations or any queries in relation to same. Performs quality control review of tax notices, data entry and reconciliation in a variety of systems. Works with Finance in various entities to remit payment for tax notices. Complete ad hoc projects upon request Required Qualifications Associate degree in accounting, payroll, or other related fields. Minimum 1-3 years’ experience within a shared services or financial services environment. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent communication and time-management skills Ability to respond to multiple questions and queries in a professional and timely manner. Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced work environment Must maintain confidentiality of all employee and company documentation. Ability to work well on a team; contribute and participate in a highly collaborative team environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
