Job Summary :We are seeking a highly skilled BigQuery and Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and optimizing databases, with a specific focus on Google BigQuery. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.Key Responsibilities :BigQuery Management :- Design and implement BigQuery data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts.- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into BigQuery.- Monitor and manage BigQuery usage, cost, and performance.- Implement data partitioning, clustering, and optimization strategies to improve query performance.- Ensure data quality and consistency across different data sources.Database Management :- Design, implement, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).- Develop and maintain database schemas, tables, views, and indexes.- Monitor and tune database performance, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.- Implement data backup, recovery, and security measures.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.Data Integration and ETL :- Design and implement ETL processes to integrate data from various sources into BigQuery and other databases.- Develop data pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, Dataflow, or custom scripts.- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide data solutions.Data Governance and Compliance :- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards, and best practices. - Implement data security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).- Document data architecture, processes, and procedures.Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.- Proven experience as a Database Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Google BigQuery.- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.- Familiarity with data integration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Dataflow) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java).- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Preferred Skills :- Experience with cloud-based data warehouses Knowledge of machine learning and data analytics tools (e.g., BigQuery ML).- Understanding of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
