Job Description :We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with extensive experience in managing PostgreSQL databases, Aurora, and database migration projects. As a Senior DBA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our database systems.Responsibilities :Database Administration: Manage and maintain PostgreSQL and Aurora database systems, including installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Implement performance tuning strategies to enhance database performance and scalability.Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.High Availability: Implement high availability solutions, such as clustering, replication, and failover mechanisms, to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of database systems.Security Management: Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to protect sensitive data stored in the databases. Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks.Database Migration: Plan and execute database migration projects, including schema migration, data migration, and application migration, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.Database Monitoring: Set up and configure database monitoring tools to track database performance metrics, detect anomalies, and proactively address issues before they impact users.Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future capacity requirements. Implement scalability solutions to accommodate growing data volumes and user loads.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and facilitate troubleshooting.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and network engineers, to support application development, deployment, and integration efforts.Requirements :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Relevant years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on PostgreSQL and Aurora databases.- Hands-on experience with database installation, configuration, tuning, and administration.- Proficiency in database migration techniques and tools.- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions.- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.AWS certification (e.g. AWS Certified Database - Specialty) is a plus.- Bangalore (ref:hirist.tech)
