Job Description:As an NSX-T Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of VMware NSX-T environments. Your role will involve configuring and managing network virtualization components, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This position requires in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T, as well as strong expertise in network protocols, troubleshooting, and security concepts.Key Responsibilities:- VMware NSX-T Implementation: Design, deploy, and configure VMware NSX-T environments to meet the organization's networking requirements.- Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and applications.- Network Virtualization: Implement and manage network virtualization features such as logical switching, routing, distributed firewalling, and load balancing within NSX-T environments.- Configuration Management: Manage and administer NSX-T interfaces, transport zones, logical segments, and other networking components.- Ensure consistency and compliance with established standards.- Network Protocols: Demonstrate a strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.- Configure and troubleshoot networking protocols as needed.- Troubleshooting and Monitoring: Utilize network and security troubleshooting and monitoring tools to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.- Implement proactive measures to ensure network reliability and performance.- Network Security: Implement and maintain network security policies, controls, and best practices within NSX-T environments.- Collaborate with security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks.Qualifications:- NSX-T Expertise: In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T, including proficiency in network virtualization features and functionalities.- Network Virtualization Skills: Strong expertise in logical switching and routing, distributed firewalling, and load balancing within NSX-T environments.- Configuration Management: Experience in managing and administering NSX-T interfaces, transport zones, and logical segments to ensure optimal network performance and scalability.- Network Protocols: Solid understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot them effectively.- Troubleshooting Skills: Hands-on experience with network and security troubleshooting and monitoring tools, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.- Network Security: Knowledge of network security concepts and best practices, including the implementation of security controls within NSX-T environments.- Problem-solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.- Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional - Network Virtualization (VCAP-NV) are a plus.- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
