Oracle Database Migration Consultant (8+ Years Experience).Position Title : Oracle Database Migration Consultant.Experience Level : Senior (8+ years).About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Migration Consultant with over 8 years of hands-on experience in database migration projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing database migrations from various platforms to Oracle databases. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Oracle database technologies, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex projects.Key Responsibilities :Database Migration Planning : - Develop comprehensive migration strategies, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.Migration Execution : - Execute database migration projects from start to finish, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.Assessment and Analysis : - Conduct thorough assessments of existing databases, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for optimization.- Data Migration Tools : - Utilize tools like Oracle Data Pump, GoldenGate, RMAN, and other migration tools to ensure efficient and secure data transfer.Performance Tuning : - Optimize database performance preand post-migration through performance tuning and query optimization.- Testing and Validation- : Develop and execute rigorous testing plans to validate data integrity and application functionality post-migration.Documentation : - Create detailed documentation of migration plans, processes, and procedures.Stakeholder Communication : - Maintain clear and regular communication with all stakeholders, including technical teams, management, and clients, ensuring all parties are informed of project status and any issues.Training and Support : - Provide training and support to internal teams and clients on the new database environment and migration tools.Compliance and Security : - Ensure all migration activities comply with relevant data security and regulatory requirements.Qualifications :Experience : - Minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle database management and migration.- Education- : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- Advanced certifications in Oracle Database Administration (e.g., OCP, OCM) are highly desirable.Technical Skills :- Proficiency in Oracle Database 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c, and newer versions.- Strong experience with Oracle Data Pump, GoldenGate, RMAN, and other migration tools.- In-depth knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.- Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.- Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) is a plus.- Project Management- : Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale database migration projects.
