Description:

Job Description :- Creating database objects such as tables, views, triggers, and indexes etc. - Monitor the performance of the database to identify slowdowns or potential issues and ensure optimum performance. - Identify potential issues in the database to solve them early. - Resolve any production data issues - Give best practice guidance to the development team. - Develop Stored Procedures and Database Triggers in support of application development. - Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and design. - Participate in the creation of development, staging, and production database instances, and the migration from one environment to another. - Responsible for developer SQL code review to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently prior to production release - Maintain database schema. - Manage database availability. - Maintain backups and perform disaster recovery in case a disaster destroys the database. - Monitor security and prevent any unauthorized access to the database. - Configure streaming and logical replication in database. - Schedule consistent maintenance on the server.- Taplespace management Role management :- Develop automation technologies to accelerate the process of data loading. - Develop relational databases - Ensure data integrity - Manage user access and permissions by adding and removing users as required. - Maintain the database using different utilities. This includes using like pg_ctl and psql - Maintaining the database schema, including creating new tables, adding columns to existing tables, and deleting unnecessary tables and data. - Performing regular scheduled maintenance on the database server, such as vacuum analysis on large tables to remove obsolete dataQualification :- 5+ years of database management and engineering experience - BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills - Experience architecting a large-scale production database platform - Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies - Familiarity with system level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities - Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments (ref:hirist.tech)
