Description:

Role Description :- The Platform Engineer will be responsible for implementing and managing the infrastructure and networking components of a global private networking design within AWS. - This includes managing AWS Organizations, rearchitecting the existing account structure, and migrating resources to appropriate locations. - The role also involves providing on-call support for security remediation, managing AWS IAM, monitoring infrastructure logs and stacks, fixing vulnerabilities, and ensuring system availability. - Additionally, the Platform Engineer will be involved in operating system upgrades and patch management, as well as increasing platform automation through industry-standard CI/CD practices.Responsibilities :Global Private Networking Implementation :- Implement a global private networking design, potentially covering AWS Transit Gateway, Private Link, Endpoints, Site-to-site VPN, Route 53, and Network Load Balancers.AWS Organizations Management :- Manage AWS Organizations, including restructuring the current account setup into agreed-upon structures for Dev/Test/Production/Shared Services.- Migrate existing resources to appropriate account locations.- On-call Support and Security Remediation:- Provide on-call support for priority 1 (P1) incidents, particularly related to security remediation.- Infrastructure and Networking Management:- Configure and manage AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management).- Monitor infrastructure logs and stacks for performance and security.- Implement vulnerability fixes and manage ongoing vulnerability assessments.- Manage infrastructure availability, including network gateways and RAM.Operating System and Patch Management :- Perform operating system upgrades and patch management to ensure system security and stability.Business as Usual (BAU) Operations :- Ensure smooth operation of recently implemented infrastructure after re-architecture.Network and Firewall Management :- Manage networking components, including routing, subnets, and firewall configurations.Platform Automation :- Increase platform automation through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and other industry-standard CI/CD practices.Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.- Previous experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role.- Proficiency in AWS services and infrastructure management.- Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols.- Experience with IAM configuration and management.- Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring and vulnerability management tools.- Knowledge of operating system upgrades and patch management processes.- Experience with firewall management and network security.- Proven ability to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines.- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.Updated title - Platform Engineer (ref:hirist.tech)
