JD for AWS PaaS Database AdministratorJob Description : As an AWS PaaS Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in the administration, optimization, and security of our database systems hosted on the AWS cloud. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our databases, contributing to the success of our cloud-based applications.Key Responsibilities :AWS Database Management :- Administer and manage databases on AWS PaaS platforms, such as Amazon RDS and Aurora. - Implement and maintain database configurations for optimal performance.Performance Monitoring and Optimization : - Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize configurations. - Implement strategies for scaling databases based on demand. Backup and Recovery : - Configure and manage automated backup and recovery processes. - Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures. Security and Access Control : - Implement and enforce security best practices for AWS databases. - Manage user access permissions and conduct regular access reviews. Database Upgrades and Patch Management : - Plan and execute database upgrades and apply patches in accordance with best practices. - Stay informed about the latest releases and recommend updates as needed. Incident Response and Troubleshooting :- Respond to and troubleshoot database-related incidents and service requests. - Collaborate with Level 3 support and AWS support for advanced issue resolution. Documentation :- Maintain up-to-date documentation for database configurations, procedures, and issue resolutions. - Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. - 3-5 years of experience in database administration, with a focus on AWS PaaS platforms. - Expertise in managing databases on AWS, including Amazon RDS and Aurora. - Strong understanding of database performance optimization and tuning. - Knowledge of security best practices for AWS databases. - Experience with backup and recovery procedures in a cloud environment. - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Database - Specialty are a plus. - Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills : - Familiarity with other AWS services, such as AWS CloudFormation and AWS CloudWatch. - Scripting and automation skills for routine database tasks. - Experience with relational and non-relational databases.
