Job Summary :We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing, maintaining, and optimizing SQL databases. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our SQL Server databases, as well as collaborating with development teams to design and implement database solutions that support business needs.Responsibilities :Database Management :- Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances.- Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.- Perform database tuning, query optimization, and index management to ensure optimal performance.Backup and Recovery :- Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery plans.- Perform regular backups, restore databases as needed, and ensure data integrity and availability.Security and Compliance : - Implement and manage database security measures to protect sensitive data.- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.High Availability and Disaster Recovery :- Implement and manage high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.- Ensure databases are resilient and can recover quickly in the event of a failure.Database Design and Development Support :- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, and functions.- Assist in the design of database solutions to support business applications.- Provide guidance on best practices for database development and optimization.Monitoring and Troubleshooting :-Set up and maintain database monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues proactively.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.Documentation and Reporting :- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and policies.- Generate and analyze reports on database performance, usage, and incidents.Requirements :Technical Skills :- 3+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator.- Proficiency in SQL Server, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.- Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.- Experience with backup and recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.- Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance requirements.- Knowledge of SQL scripting and automation tools.- Experience with database monitoring tools (e.g., SQL Server Profiler, Performance Monitor, or third-party tools).Soft Skills :- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and improving existing skills.Education :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Preferred Qualifications :- Certification in SQL Server (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate).- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).- Knowledge of other database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
