As a JIRA Developer, you will be responsible for developing and customizing JIRA instances to meet the specific needs of our organization and clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement JIRA workflows, plugins, and integrations that support agile project management practices. Your expertise in JIRA development and customization will be critical in delivering efficient and scalable solutions.Key Responsibilities :Customization and Configuration :- Customize JIRA workflows, issue types, screens, and fields to align with business processes and requirements.- Develop and configure JIRA plugins, scripts, and automation rules to extend platform functionality.- Implement and maintain JIRA schemes, including permission schemes, notification schemes, and issue security.Integration and Automation :- Integrate JIRA with other tools and systems using APIs, webhooks, and third-party plugins.- Develop and implement automation scripts and rules to streamline repetitive tasks and workflows.- Collaborate with development teams to integrate JIRA into CI/CD pipelines and agile development processes.Plugin Development :- Develop custom JIRA plugins and extensions using Java, Groovy, or other programming languages.- Enhance existing plugins or create new ones to address specific business requirements.- Conduct code reviews and ensure plugin code adheres to best practices and coding standards.Data Management and Reporting :- Manage and manipulate JIRA data using APIs and database queries.- Create custom reports, dashboards, and gadgets to provide insights into project metrics and performance.- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within JIRA instances.Collaboration and Support :- Work closely with project managers, administrators, and end-users to gather requirements and provide technical solutions.- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users, resolving issues and addressing concerns in a timely manner.- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on JIRA best practices and capabilities.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing :- Document technical specifications, configurations, and customizations for JIRA instances.- Share knowledge and best practices with team members and stakeholders.- Contribute to the development of internal tools, utilities, and resources to support JIRA development and administration.Required Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.- 3 to 6 years of experience in software development, with a focus on JIRA development and customization.- Strong proficiency in JIRA administration, configuration, and customization.- Experience developing JIRA plugins and extensions using Java, Groovy, or other programming languages.- Knowledge of JIRA APIs, webhooks, and integration methods.- Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and practices.- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
