Job Description :- Microsoft SQL Database Administrator Monitor database performance Administer SQL security Create, modify DB tables and fields Investigate data questions from the business and IT Oversee back-up and restore of databases Size and monitor database server performance and space capacity - Participate in creation and configuration of databases to support new applications Apply Microsoft patches to SQL servers on monthly basis Database tuning and remediation of issues found in SQL health checks and vulnerability assessments Assist in setup and deployment of new SQL servers and clusters Assist in database migrations.- Assist in removal of decommissioned SQL servers and instances Monitor and investigate DB Best Practice reports and DB alert notifications.- Support and configure SQL high availability utilizing availability groups and clustering SharePoint Site Development and Support Support modification of various internal SharePoint sites Create, modify and support custom coded sites Develop workflows Utilize ShareGate utility to : - Migrate/Import data to/from SharePoint sites/libraries - Generate permission, storage and usage reports - Adjust site and library permission. Position Requirements and Qualifications : - Experience level: Minimum 8 years' in DBA experience and 5-6 years in SharePoint. Education Minimum : - 4-year College degree or equivalent business experience Preferred Certifications: Microsoft SQL/Database Administrator.- Microsoft SQL Database Administrator Responsibilities : Monitor database performance : - Keeping an eye on the performance of SQL databases to ensure they are running efficiently. Administer SQL security : - Managing user access and permissions to ensure data security. Database design and maintenance : - Creating, modifying, and maintaining database tables and fields. Data investigation : - Addressing queries from both business and IT stakeholders regarding data. Backup and restore : - Overseeing the backup and restoration processes to prevent data loss. Capacity planning : - Estimating future database growth and ensuring adequate server capacity. Database configuration : - Participating in the setup and configuration of databases to support new applications. Patch management : - Applying Microsoft patches to SQL servers on a regular basis to ensure security and performance improvements. Database tuning : - Optimizing database performance and addressing any issues found during health checks and vulnerability assessments. Assisting in setup and migration : - Helping with the deployment of new SQL servers, clusters, and migrations, as well as decommissioning old servers. Monitoring and alerts : - Keeping an eye on best practice reports, alerts, and notifications to maintain database health. - SharePoint Site Development and Support Responsibilities : Site modification : - Supporting the modification of internal SharePoint sites to meet business needs. Custom site development : - Creating, modifying, and supporting custom-coded SharePoint sites. Workflow development : - Developing workflows to automate processes within SharePoint. Data migration : - Utilizing tools like ShareGate to migrate data to/from SharePoint sites and libraries. Permission management : - Generating permission reports and adjusting site and library permissions as necessary. Position Requirements and Qualifications : Experience : - Minimum of 8 years in database administration and 5-6 years in SharePoint development. Education : - A minimum of a 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience. Certifications : - Preferred certifications include Microsoft SQL/Database Administrator certification.
