Designation : Cloud Database Specialist (similar to Database Engineer)No. of position : 2Type Of Employment : Hybrid (3 days WFO)Working Days : Mon - FriReports To : V.P. - EngineeringThe Opportunity : We seek a skilled and experienced Cloud Database Specialist proficient in AWS Aurora and MySQL to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and securing our database systems to ensure high availability,Who You Are :- You are an experienced Database Specialist/Database Engineer with 8 - 13 years of total experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.- Proven experience as a Database Specialist/Database Development managing AWS Aurora (Min. 1 year) and min 6+ years in MySQL databases in production environments in an administrative role.- Min 4+ years of strong Proficiency in database design (tables / schemas / foreign keys / triggers / stored procedures), database query performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis and troubleshooting.- Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.- Hands-on experience with database backup and recovery procedures, including data sanitization for non-production environments, point-in-time recovery, and failover for production environments.- Some experience with OLAP reporting databases or NoSQL columnar databases and organizing data optimized for reporting is desirable- Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and IAM.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.- AWS Certification(s) is a plus.- Experience with other database systems such as PostgreSQL and SQL Server is desirable.What You Will Do :- Install, configure, and manage AWS Aurora and MySQL database systems.- Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring efficient query execution and resource utilization, close involvement in database design (tables / schemas / foreign keys / triggers / stored procedures), database query performance tuning, query optimization, and execution plan analysis and troubleshooting- Ability to take complete ownership of the database design and set a review process for ongoing database changes with the development teams with a focus on instituting best practices to standardize and optimize database design and performance- Tune cluster and instance parameter groups to achieve the best performance.- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.- Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to design and deploy database solutions that meet business requirements.- Implement and enforce database security best practices, including user access controls, encryption, and auditing.- Perform database schema design, modification, and optimization to support application development and data analytics.- Develop and maintain documentation, including standard operating procedures, technical specifications, and system diagrams.- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration, cloud computing, and data management.- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to database emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed.Must-Have Skills :- Good communication skills (may have to coordinate with US colleagues and hence need to have clarity in communication)- SQL Database Development and Upgrading & Migrating AWS RDSs (PostgreSQL & My SQL) to Aurora- Hands-on experience in MySQL or PostgreSQL (Min. 4 years)- 6+ years relevant experience in AWS Services like RDS Systems or Redshift- Performance Tuning (latest min 4+ years) and Query Optimization (latest min. relevant 4+ years)- Individual Contributor and team-leading experience is optionalJob Location : World Trade Centre, Kharadi, PuneInterview Rounds : HR Telephonic round + Online Technical Test (using Adaface) + Technical Panel Interview + Head Of EngineeringSome of the industry-leading benefits we offer include :- Competitive salary- Group Health Insurance Policy- Group Accident/Disability Insurance- Hybrid Work Options- Employee Referral Program- Food and Beverages- Stock optionsIf interested Share your resume with Current CTC, Expected CTC, and Joining Period (ref:hirist.tech)
