Job Overview :We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Administrator with over 5 years of experience to manage and optimize our Snowflake data platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, cloud data warehousing, and performance tuning. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities :Database Administration :- Manage and maintain the Snowflake data warehouse environment.- Monitor and optimize database performance and storage.- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and security configurations.User and Security Management :- Manage user accounts and roles, ensuring proper security and access controls.- Implement and enforce data governance policies.- Monitor and audit user activities to ensure compliance with organizational policies.Performance Tuning :- Optimize query performance and storage usage.- Analyze and resolve performance issues and bottlenecks.- Implement best practices for Snowflake data warehouse design and development.Data Integration and ETL :- Work with data engineering teams to design and implement ETL processes.- Ensure efficient data movement and transformation between various data sources and Snowflake.- Maintain data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.Collaboration and Support :- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts.- Provide support and troubleshooting for Snowflake-related issues.- Assist in the development of documentation and training materials for end-users.Automation and Scripting :- Develop and maintain scripts for automation of administrative tasks.- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) practices for managing Snowflake environments.Required Experience and Skills : Education :- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.Experience :- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration with at least 2 years focused on Snowflake.- Proven experience with cloud data warehousing platforms, preferably Snowflake.- Strong background in SQL and database performance tuning.Technical Skills :- Proficiency in Snowflake features and functionalities, including SnowSQL, Snowpipe, and Time Travel.- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.- Strong knowledge of ETL tools and processes.- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and best practices.- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).Soft Skills :- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.Preferred Qualifications :Certifications :- Snowflake SnowPro Certification.- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer).Additional Experience :- Experience with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or Matillion.- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).- Experience in a DevOps environment.
