Job Profile: Unix Shell ScriptingWFH / WFO (Optional)Hiring Office : Mumbai and PuneJob description:Diverse Lynx is looking for Unix Shell Scripting to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journeyYou will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Unix shell scripts to automate system processes and enhance operational efficiency- This role involves collaborating with system administrators, ensuring proper script execution, and troubleshooting issues- The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Unix/Linux environments, shell scripting languages, and a proactive approach to process automation- Provide L3 SQL support for production issues (performance)- Provide L3 SQL support for developers - supporting query development and test throughout the software development lifecycle- Apply best practice for tuning SQL queries / databases to improve overall system performance- Analyse workloads and recommend optimal index design on key tables- Review proposed database structure changes and gain approval to modify based on best practices- Put standards in place to ensure all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance;- Perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the standards are being adhered to.- Be gateway to production for all SQL developments / changesKey Responsibilities:- Shell Script Development: Design, develop, and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate system tasks, configurations, and routine processes- Create efficient and reliable scripts using shell languages such as Bash or Korn shell- System Automation: Identify opportunities for process automation and develop scripts to streamline system administration tasks- Implement cron jobs and scheduling to automate recurring activities- Collaboration with System Administrators: Work closely with system administrators to understand operational needs and requirements- Provide scripting solutions to enhance system monitoring, maintenance, and security- Script Execution and Monitoring: Ensure the proper execution of shell scripts and monitor their performance- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to script execution and system automation- Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices in scripting to safeguard sensitive information- Ensure scripts adhere to compliance standards and contribute to audit requirements- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all shell scripts, including usage guidelines and troubleshooting procedures- Create documentation for system automation processes and workflows- Training and Knowledge Sharing: Provide training to team members and system administrators on script usage and best practices- Share knowledge and expertise in Unix shell scripting within the organization (ref:hirist.tech)
