Job Summary : We are seeking a talented and experienced ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) Architect to join our team. The CMDB Architect will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the CMDB within the ServiceNow platform to support effective IT asset and configuration management processes. This role requires a deep understanding of ITIL principles, ServiceNow platform capabilities, and enterprise architecture.Key Responsibilities : CMDB Design and Architecture : Design and architect the CMDB structure within the ServiceNow platform, defining configuration item (CI) classes, relationships, attributes, and data model to accurately represent the IT environment and dependencies.CMDB Implementation : Lead the implementation of the CMDB, including data population, normalization, reconciliation, and synchronization processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across the IT landscape.Integration and Discovery : Configure and integrate discovery tools and sources to automatically populate and update CMDB records, including network, infrastructure, application, and service dependencies, leveraging ServiceNow Discovery, SCCM, SNMP, and other technologies.Governance and Standards : Define and enforce governance policies, standards, and procedures for CMDB management, including data quality, access control, lifecycle management, and audit compliance, aligned with ITIL best practices.Process Integration : Collaborate with IT service management (ITSM) and other IT teams to integrate CMDB with incident, problem, change, and asset management processes, facilitating impact analysis, change planning, and service visibility.CMDB Health and Maintenance : Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the CMDB, performing regular audits, data cleanup, and optimization activities to ensure the accuracy and relevance of CI data and relationships.Reporting and Analytics : Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytics to provide insights into CI relationships, dependencies, and compliance, enabling informed decision-making and IT service improvement initiatives.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : Document CMDB architecture, configuration, and processes, and provide training and knowledge sharing sessions to stakeholders and end-users to promote understanding and adoption of CMDB practices.Continuous Improvement : Stay informed about ServiceNow platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to CMDB management, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.Qualifications :- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications are required. Additional ServiceNow certifications, such as Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Expert (CIE), are highly desirable.- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a ServiceNow developer, architect, or consultant, with a focus on CMDB design, implementation, and management.- Deep understanding of ITIL v3 or v4 principles, particularly in the areas of configuration management, change management, and service asset and configuration management (SACM).- Proficiency in ServiceNow platform capabilities, including CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, and IntegrationHub.- Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, PowerShell, or Python for customization and automation within the ServiceNow platform.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex CMDB issues and recommend effective solutions.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.Preferred Skills :- Experience with ITSM and IT operations management (ITOM) processes and modules within the ServiceNow platform.- Knowledge of IT infrastructure components, technologies, and standards, including networks, servers, databases, cloud services, and virtualization.- Familiarity with data center operations, configuration management tools, and IT asset management (ITAM) practices.- Experience with CMDB federation and integration with external data sources and third-party systems using APIs, web services, and middleware.- Understanding of IT security principles and practices, particularly related to CMDB access control, data encryption, and compliance requirements.- Project management skills and experience leading CMDB implementation projects from initiation to completion, including planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
